"Food Thoughts" turned into something else....

Food for Thought

Around my house, Sundays are a big food day. I love to cook and having a whole day to work on a meal is a real treat for me. I know a lot of us maybe have resolutions to trim our waistlines or watch our calories... so fess up and tell me about your relationship with food!

The only time to eat diet food is while you're waiting for the steak to cook -- Julia Child.

I have to admit this is the first year in many that my eating habits have not been part of my new year's resolution. Every year I struggle with this, expecting that this time I will somehow get my weight to where I want it and stay there. But this year, I have tried to let that go. I am not sure if that is a good idea or not, but I am so totally tired of agonizing over everything I eat, beating myself up and feeling depressed when I do not reach my goal. This year I have decided to go with a different goal (which I wrote about earlier) and let the eating thing go for now. I need to go with my "just do it" even when I don't feel like it til the "feel like it" comes. This applies to my household chores, laundry, ironing, scrapbooking and most everything else. Things are going great in this area of my life and there have been some very positive changes. Kendra would be so proud of me that I'm using my "Sidetracked Housewives" cards again and getting so much accomplished. The kids used to dread those things and make fun of me,,,,,,but they actually work for me.

If you have viewed my last pictures of the house, you will see that these 5 areas have been greatly improved. I know some of it was due to the holidays, but my scrapbook room definitely was not!

Anyway, my post about food and wandered off into something else, but that really is my point. My focus is in another direction this year and it is working for me!
