Just an ordinary day....

Nothing too exciting going on. Managed to catch a sunrise yesterday morning at 6:15am coming out of my work.

Today was pretty much the same thing....work, come home eat, do boring chores. But I did manage to get some laundry done and some ironing (I actually like the ironing). I LOVE my digital Back & Decker iron. And David was happy I ironed him some shirts. Spent about 3 hours reading my new book and am totally enthralled! Love those vampires!

Can't believe tomorrow is May 1st. How did that get here so quickly. It's another new Library of Memories class and am looking forward to that. Then the next 2 weeks will be break weeks and I need them. Didn't manage to get all my memorabilia sorted and that needs to get done. Tomorrow is also the new "kit of the month" from Lisa Bearnson's site. Always like checking that out. Then Lisa will be on QVC on Friday from 8-10am because Saturday is National Scrapbook Day.

Off to get ready for work.

twilight.....

new moon & eclipse.....my 3 new "gently used" amazon books arrived today. I'm excited to get started. the twilight series is being made into movies and is being called the "next Harry Potter" only with vampires instead of wizards. Stephenie Meyer, the author, is in the process of bring out book #4 in about 3-4 months. I'm looking forward to reading them. The boy who played Cedric Diggory in the HP series is in the "twilight" movie.

Went for my haircut this morning at 9am. They said Joy was back part-time and feeling much better. It's been over a year ago she was diagnosed with a rare neck cancer. The treatments were looooong and unpleasant, but I'm glad she's back.

Stopped at Kroger and picked up our meds. Also had to get Susie her canned food she loves so much. And it's "Kroger chicken Monday" at our house so bought some of that, too.
I also received my "the 25th of" scrapbook to put my pictures in. Need to get those layouts done so when my April pictures arrive I can put them in. Plus my 2 Wedgewood We R Memory Keepers albums arrived today.....banner day at the PO.

Off to start my new reading series!

Nice Sunday....

Had a quiet and peaceful day. Al came over to help David set up some stuff for the garage sale they are having next weekend. Our double car garage is completely FULL! I'm thinking they are going to have plenty of money to take to Chicago to the National Card Show this summer.

I worked on my Library of Memories class. Got the divider cards for my category drawers done and labeled the front of the drawers.

I used Stampin' Up paper because it is more readily available to me than other brands. I used the We R Memory Keepers linen albums with the following papers:

Wedgewood album - Brocade Blue cardstock for "all about US"
Onyx album - Basic Black cardstock for "PLACES we go"
Silverstone album - Pale Plum cardstock for "PEOPLE we love"
Pomegranate album - Rose Red cardstock for "THINGS we do"

Here's the inside of the "THINGS we do" drawer:

After getting this done and ordering some pictures for my "25th of the month" class I'm taking, I wanted to run to Farm & Fleet to pick up David some jeans and me some jean shorts for work......but since that new theatre is on the way, why not stop in for a movie????

I went to see "Nim's Island" and it was terrific. I didn't know Jodie Foster was in it, so that was a nice surprise, as I love her. There was only me and a family of 3 in the movie, so I had a good time. I really like that they have early movies on the weekend (10:45am) so my whole day wasn't spent in the theatre. All in all a very good day.

Why is it.....

that when you have a short week at work it seems that the week lasts extra long??? I had Monday night off to go to an all-day scrapbook fest, so the week should have flown by. But did it? OH, NO! It did NOT! Just glad it's over now.

I'm off here in a bit to Washington for a stamping event. Bunch of us go to Carrie's church where she has stamping classes. The first half of the time is spent making a scrapbook page that is stamped and the second half is making 3 cards for whatever holiday is coming up. This time we are supposed to be making a neat "envelope" book that we can use as a Mother's Day gift. Plus I get to see everyone, so that makes me happy.

This is one of the cards we made a few months ago. Carrie always comes up with such neat ideas.

Well, I'd better go get ready to go. Will post the stuff we are doing today later!

Okay....it's now 3:20pm and I'm back from stamping with Carrie and friends. We made 3 cards and an "envelope book" for pictures. Such a cute idea.

Here's the "thank you" card:

Here's the "friends" card:

Here's the "birthday" card or whatever you want it to be:

Now onto the "envelope book"....front page with page 3 and page 4:

Now comes page 1, 2 and 3 (the front page is opened up):

Last is pages 3, 4 and 5....but I'm going to decorate the back and add more pictures. You could use as many envelopes as you wanted and you just accordion fold them.

All in all, I had a wonderful day. Great weather, beautiful skies and even managed to take some pictures of cows and sheep on the way home through the country.

Well, I'm off to watch a little TV and then off to bed. Have a wonderful weekend!

the 25th....

and it's picture taking day.

- alarm clock upon waking (keep camera next to bed)
- each meal of the day
- view from my front window
- arm's length self-portrait
- clock before bed

Plus..... and shots during the day or night of things I'm doing.

That is my assignment for the class I'm taking of Shimelle's. Love her ideas and am looking forward to this one. The idea is to take pictures on the 25th of every month for a year. After each 25th, you are to scrapbook the pictures. There will be a prompt for picture ideas and also a prompt for layout ideas.

Let's see what I can come up with for April.

So I thought I'd start off my day (which is kinda backwards since I work nights) with a picture of the upper portion of my locker at the United States Postal Service in Bloomington, IL.

Then there was the coming home and cooking "breakfast" which is actually our dinner. Am I making any sense at all? Night shift workers!!! We are a different breed.

Anyway, I'm off to Shimelle's site to see what the layout is for this month. Oh, forgot to mention the photo prompt was to take horizontal pictures and to back up....usually scrapbookers are told to get in close and fill the frame with your picture, but not today. Today, get the entire picture.

Over A Year!!!

Can it really by that it's been over a year since I've blogged? Surely not! How can it be? But the facts don't lie. Toady is April 24th of 2008 and my last post was in March of 2007. What happened you ask......well, I guess just life.

I have a "my space" now also and sometimes post there, but not a lot. But with Shimelle's new class " Scrap Your Day", it's time to get back in the swing of things. The idea of the class is to take photos on the 25th of every month, scrap them before the 25th rolls around again and at the end of a year have a completed album. Sounds like something I could do.

So here we go again.....
